Custom Quad 44 - Tapped Pickup System Complete Pickguard Assembly
Pickup Switching / Controls Described

Tone and Volume Controls:

Positions of all controls & switches are referenced with the guitar in the playing position.

The lower most tone control effects the tone of the bridge pickup. The tone control up from the previous effects the tone of the middle pickup. The tone control up from the previous effects the tone of the neck pickup. The control closest to the strings is the master volume control.  Below is an illustration of the controls.

Recessed Mini-Toggle Switches Pickup Switching Controls:

With tapped pickups which are the heart of the Custom Quad 44-TPS pickguard assembly you have the ability to select between two different output levels with each pickup.  The tapped selection is a lower output or a more vintage tone and then you have the full output which is the maximum output the pickup can produce. Each pickup in this pickguard assembly is a tapped pickup and has its own unique mini-toggle switch to alternate between low output or full output. These switches are numbered 2, 3 and 4 as depicted below, with switch number 2 for the neck pickup, switch number 3 for the middle pickup and switch number 4 for the bridge pickup.  When any of these switches is in the down position the associated pickup is in the "tapped" output mode or lower output mode, when the switch is in the up position the pickup is in full output mode.

Switch number 1 is to turn on the neck pickup. This switch is not part of the tapped selection mode it simply turns on the neck pickup and includes it with what ever pickups are selected with the 5-way switch. It is to be used when the 5-way switch is in position 1 which is for the Bridge pickup and with mini-toggle switch 1 on you would then have the Bridge and Neck pickups selected together which takes on the tone similar to a Telecaster. It can also be used when the 5-way switch is in position 2 which is for the Bridge and Middle pickups selected together and then with mini-toggle switch 1 on you would then have all three pickups selected together.

The 5-way switch will function normally as it does with any modern Strat® as follows:

1 - Bridge
2 - Bridge + Middle
3 - Middle
4 - Neck + Middle
5 - Neck

Mini-Toggle Switch Assignments / Function:

1 - Neck pickup activation (Down = Turns ON the neck pickup).
2 - Neck pickup output level selector    (Down = Low Output  /  Up = Full Output).
3 - Middle pickup output level selector  (Down = Low Output  /  Up = Full Output).
4 - Bridge pickup output level selector  (Down = Low Output  /  Up = Full Output).
