  • Vintage 6 screw tremolo bridge setup as free-floating 1/8" at rear tilts bridge plate 7° forward.
  • Tremolo arm insertion angle into tremolo block, 12° back tilt.
  • Modern 2 point pivot bridge setup as free-floating 1/8" at rear w/front edge up 0.020" from painted body surface tilts bridge plate 5.5° forward and will present tip of tremolo arm 1/4" higher than a vintage 6 screw tremolo bridge setup similarly as free-floating.
    • For every 0.030" higher in front edge on modern 2 pin pivot bridge relates to 1/8" higher tremolo arm tip with the 4-1/4" length tremolo arm.
    • For every 1° change in bridge tilt angle relates to 1/8" tip height change with the 4-1/4" length tremolo arm.
    • Front up 0.030" tilts bridge 5° forward with rear up 1/8".
    • Front up 0.060" tilts bridge 4° forward with rear up 1/8".
  • Vintage VS modern tremolo bridges.
    • Vintage tremolo bridges tremolo arm screws in 1/8" deeper than a modern tremolo bridge.

Original FCS Gilmour black Strat tremolo arm is 0.150" longer in threaded portion and 0.200" shorter in length.  Original is bent to 80° and second / tip bend is located at the same location and same degree of bend and degree of upsweep.
